Race Report & Random YouTube
May. 27th, 2007 03:16 pmGot out of bed at ass o'clock to run the Strawberry Stampede 5K (3.1 miles) this morning. It was damn cold out, which is supposed to be better for running, but I HATE being cold. My goal was sub-28 minutes, and I finished in 27:23, so that was good. I was planning on leaving as soon as the results were posted (it was an electronic chip timed race, so they're up pretty quick) but lo, and behold, I finished 2nd in my age division! This was more from lack of competition than my blazing speed of course, but I'll take it. So I hung around for a few more minutes so I could get my pretty medal on a ribbon. Now I'm tired. :-)
This has been posted about the flist, but if you haven't seen it, it's worth a gander. I know there are a couple of closet Kelly Clarkson fans out there.

Date: 2007-05-28 02:52 am (UTC)B. Congrats on the race! You runners blow my mind with your motivation. Seriously. Also, those electronic chips blow my mind though. I wore one for a breast cancer walk I did a few years ago, and I just don't understand how they work. Magic. It's my only explanation.
