Got out of bed at ass o'clock to run the Strawberry Stampede 5K (3.1 miles) this morning. It was damn cold out, which is supposed to be better for running, but I HATE being cold. My goal was sub-28 minutes, and I finished in 27:23, so that was good. I was planning on leaving as soon as the results were posted (it was an electronic chip timed race, so they're up pretty quick) but lo, and behold, I finished 2nd in my age division! This was more from lack of competition than my blazing speed of course, but I'll take it. So I hung around for a few more minutes so I could get my pretty medal on a ribbon. Now I'm tired. :-)

This has been posted about the flist, but if you haven't seen it, it's worth a gander. I know there are a couple of closet Kelly Clarkson fans out there.

*throws confetti*
Congrats!

This mosh-up/mash-up has been eating my brain for over a couple of weeks now. I can't hear Brainstew without Kelly anymore. I do like it, so that's a good thing :]

I'm not that fond of Brainstew anyway, so it's kind of an improvement! :-)

What's up with the cold anyway? Isn't it almost summer?

Wasn't the Bay to Breakers last weekend? You didn't do it this year?

HAHAHAHAHA! That was a great vid. :) At first I was like "GD AND ... KELLY?" ;p

CONGRATS ON THE RACE! *SMOOCHES*

And I for one, am an out-and-proud Kelly Clarkson fan. :) She's got a great voice and she's a sweet lil' southern belle. :)

Woah! Congrats on the race! Maybe you'll inspire me to start running (well, jogging.....) regularly again!

Thanks! It's hard to get started, but I've finally gotten to the point where I'm anxious to go for a run instead of forcing myself to. :-)

A. I am so not in the closet about my Kelly love. In fact, I think I might need an icon. That's how out I am! That was FANTASTIC.

B. Congrats on the race! You runners blow my mind with your motivation. Seriously. Also, those electronic chips blow my mind though. I wore one for a breast cancer walk I did a few years ago, and I just don't understand how they work. Magic. It's my only explanation.

You were one of the people I was thinking of! ;-)

The link up there explains the chips in gory detail. I had no idea how they worked either!

OK - comment #2 'cause now I had time to watch the vid, and holy smokes that was cool!!!! *head spin* I've never seen/heard that before, but I was laughing my head off the whole time! While my feelings on the whole American Idol thing are fairly obvious (*snort*) I actually do respect Kelly. She has a good voice and I think she's fairly talented. And I do respect her for not being a human X-ray or walking lingerie ad like most other pop-tartlets these days.

Oh yeah, and Explosion!Billie.....mmmmmmm, is possibly my favourite (*nod to icon*)

That's one of the better mash-ups I've ever heard!

Do you have the Dean Gray American Edit mash-up? If not, let me know and I'll upload it for you.

You know what - I was actually thinking about that when I was watching this. I've heard all about it, and I remember all the buzz when it came out, but for some reason I never downloaded it at the time. I think I've really only ever heard the "Boulevard of Broken Songs" thingy before this one ^^. If you've got the time to upload it, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

If I have no problems coming out with my Christina Aguilera love, what makes you think it'll be different with Kels? This is the girl who needed stitches after rockin' out to Since You've Been Gone, remember? ;-p

And you have my respect for the run. I tried to jog around my block last week and I still think some of me is still missing. :-/

Congrats on the race! :)

The vid was hilarious, the mash-up worked so well. I went and listened to the Dean Gray album again because of it. lol

Thanks! I think my time would have only gotten me 4th in my age group last year, but sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. :-)
