Ever since I got a DSL connection, I have become BitTorrent's bitch, heart and soul. I download so much stuff that I often don't look at it right away, despite my hard drive's screams begging for mercy. Today I looked at a half-hour program about Green Day from Portuguese TV, of all places. It's mostly some 20 year old kid babbling (in Portuguese, natch) over well worn clips we've all seen a kazillion times, but there was one small piece I had not seen. It's from 1994, and it sounds like an old MTV interview. It's only 2:17 long, and while there's nothing in it of great import, it's fun just to see little 22 year old dreadlocked blond Billie.

Of course, you have to ignore the Portuguese sub-titles.

And a PSA if you missed it last night: The Establishment RPG Billie/Mike arc has been updated.

Note to self: Do not expect your f-list to entertain you when 1) it's Friday night and Cinco de Mayo & 2) everyone posted everything on the fourth because it was Mike's birthday!

Well if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem, so for your viewing pleasure I bring you Green Day, 4 December 1997, San Jose, CA. (I split and up'ed these for GDC, which I figure gives me the right to share them here.)

Part 1 196 MB
Part 2 241 MB
Part 3 243 MB

Non-Green Day Note: Here is a fascinating idea for a community. [livejournal.com profile] dracula1897 will publish Bram Stoker's novel as it was written, in a series of diary entries, letters, and news clippings, with each part appearing in the journal on the day they are dated. The first entry is dated May 3rd, so it just started. I managed to never read it in HS or college, so I'm going to do it now, courtesy of LJ. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] rahalia_cat for the link.

Nobody likes you, everyone left you, they're all out without you, having fun.

And I hope [livejournal.com profile] _somniac_'s cats didn't kill her.

Subsequent to this post yesterday, I found out that a few of you hadn't had the pleasure of viewing the excellent HBO proshot video of the Vancouver, BC Edgefest from 11 July 98. It also contains some brief but nice interview clips with the boys. It's a 166 MB mpeg file. (The good part starts at 00:35:15. :-) )

Green Day Edgefest 98

And continuing the Canadian theme:

This is an audio bootleg of a Matthew Good concert from Ottawa, ON 16 Oct 05. It's about an hour long, 9 songs, but the best part of it is the banter between Matt and the audience between the songs. I know [livejournal.com profile] tasyfa and [livejournal.com profile] canis_takahari will like this if they don't have it, but so will the rest of you on my flist. 68MB .zip folder of mp3s.

Enjoy!

I uploaded a video of WMUWSE for [livejournal.com profile] leighrowena, and it's too pretty not to be shared.

It's from the German TV show Wetten Dass... from 5 November 05, the same week of the EMAs and TOTP, when Billie Joe was looking particularly fine. Here is a screen shot:

The file is 44 MB.

Wake Me Up When September Ends

Enjoy.

Well, I'm headed up to lovely (cold) British Columbia for a few days, (*waves to [livejournal.com profile] and_ed *) so I will miss the High Holy Day of Febru-illie, Friday the 17th. But before I go, I have a little contribution to the Febru-illie celebration: some tasty video bootlegs of our boys for videophiles among us.

Links under the cut... )

Oh, and Happy Birthday Billie Joe! (One of you will tell him I said that when you see him, right?)

ETA: I'm going to re-up the Hammersmith show in case that link doesn't come back, but my uplink speed is crap so it won't be ready until 2000 PST. (GMT -8)

I didn't think they would, but they won! :-)

I spent way too much time that I didn't have the last couple of days on two things recommended by LJ friends:

1) Saw Brokeback Mountain. (That was only 2 hrs.)

2) Got completely sucked in to reading the Billie/Mike storylines in The Establishment RPG on JournalFen. (Many, many hours!)
