I just went back about 100 entries, which is about 10 days or so, looking for Billie Joe/Mike slash, which is about all I read these days. I kid you not, if you exclude drabbles and young!Billie/Mike (because I doubt anyone can ever improve upon [livejournal.com profile] al_teregoz's seminal work), there were all of about half a dozen Billie/Mike fics. Seriously.

What's up with that? When did everyone turn into a Billie/Tré 'shipper?

If I could write het, I'd write you an Billie/Audrey! (Maybe I'll try a drabble.)

And if I could write slash, I'd write a Billie/Mike. The thing is, even though most of it is mediocre, the good stuff is so good (I'm looking at you [livejournal.com profile] tasyfa I actually get discouraged, rather than inspired when I read it. Lame, I know.

Yeah, I could stare at that animation all day long too!

Thanks, dear. I didn't mean to sound like I was fishing for compliments. I mean, I know I can string sentences together reasonably well, but some people set the bar so high!

I agree with this one up here. ^

You can write slash. You can write het. (OBVIOUSLY - the first paragraph you added to our tag game the other day raised the level of the game tenfold with its quality, and you probably didn't even know it!) You simply need a muse to to take you where it may, my dear.

(And I know you weren't fishing for compliments, but I wanted to give some anyway. So there! ;P)

Awww, thanks hon! I appreciate the encouragement. That impromptu little smutfest was sure fun. I figured no one would mind me inviting myself in in the middle. I'm quite excited to see what you and Tas are coming up with.

*hugs* The B/T makes me happy since I'm a B/T shipper but I know what it's like to not see enough of your favorite pairing. A month or so ago, there was a rash of everything but B/T so I feel your pain. I'm going to have to write a nice current B/M one then! ^_^

Oh yes, that would be wonderful! And God! I promise I'm going to finish Boys Don't Cry and comment soon! (So far, of course, it's wonderful!)

Awww it's okay! I'm glad you like it though :) Especially since B/T isn't your thing really ♥

Oh hee, hee, hee, hee.

[livejournal.com profile] tasyfa introduced me to this. I didn't even know what a role playing game was. The Establishment is a RPG on journalfen that revolves around a private sex/bdsm club. Two women who have journals here on LJ, [livejournal.com profile] koneko41 and [livejournal.com profile] rainjewel, play Billie Joe and Mike respectively in the game. Unlike some of the other characters in the game, they are written quite close to who they are in real life, with the notable exception that they are madly in love with each other and fucking like bunnies. It's a Billie/Mike slasher's dream. And they are amazingly talented writers.

Because Tas explained it so well, I'll refer you to her journal entry here, where she explained it all to me. I took her advice, opened up Billie's and Mike's journals in two tabs, and started at the beginning, reading both journals in chronological order. It took a couple days, but I was hooked.

You can read my initial reaction here. I fell in love with the story like you fall in love with a favorite book. It's a blast to read. If you like Billie/Mike, you'll love it. :-)

You are so sweet, you know that right?

And in terms of the Est, we finally, finally are getting back to writing. We finished the Billie/Mike log we were working on; that should go up within a couple days, it just needs editing. You have no idea how good it feels to be writing them again, it's like I'd lost two of my best friends. Ow. *kisses*

And WORD on the lack of Billie/Mike. It's...kind of weird for me to read other people writing Billie *sheepish* but I'm still always righteously indignant about it.

Ironically, I would argue that Billie/Mike is more likely than Billie/Tré IRL, and my reasoning for this is because Billie flirts so blatantly with Tré and, as having once been part of a relationship that was (unfortunately, it's a long story) hidden from all our friends? When you're actually fucking someone, and you don't want anyone to know, you don't even so much as flirt. You play it as cool as possible, like you're just friends, and you don't kiss or sit in each others' laps or anything like that. Does that make sense? (Part of it is certainly that I can barely even read Billie/Tré, much less ever write it, now that I've invested so heavily in a Billie/Mike storyline *laughs* but the reason I STARTED writing Billie/Mike rather than Billie/Tre was because I found it much more likely.) /ramble

*kisses* Thank you again for the Warfield files, sugar. I think I thanked you before, but still--can't be said enough. :)

That Warfield bootleg just kicks ass, doesn't it?

I like your logic about why Billie/Mike is more likely than Billie/Tré. I think I'll steal it. :-)

What's up with that? When did everyone turn into a Billie/Tré 'shipper?

When I first got into the slash game, I was a strictly Billie/Mike girl...I guess I just thought that there's so much oppotunity there because of shared history and closeness of the relationship and all that jazz. I still think that, but...I've since been brought over to the other side.

So why am I now almost entirely a Billie/Tre girl? I'd like to blame thank [livejournal.com profile] al_teregoz entirely for my conversion, but she's not the only factor. I can't really explain it, there's just something in the tension between those two, in my (admittedly perverted) mind, it's almost tangible. The comments that you're never quite sure whether they're joking about, the gratuituous eye-fucking...yeah. If those two have not fooled around at some point, I'll be damned.

But hey, that sure doesn't mean I'm close-minded. I could get into any pairing if a story was well-written, and although I haven't been around long enough around here to have read any of your stuff, from what everyone else above me has said (and the little story from the other day) you're a hell of a writer. Like [livejournal.com profile] leighrowena said ^^, that first passage you contributed to our game was pretty breathtaking. Could we be expecting some slash from you soon? *hint*

Oh, and that animation gets me every time, too. It just looks so natural...;)

The funny thing is, if you asked me to put cold hard cash down on a bet on which pair was more likely in real life I'd have to say Billie/Tré too. I had this discussion with [livejournal.com profile] _somniac_ & [livejournal.com profile] luthien123 during our East Bay pilgrimage. On the analog scale that is human sexuality, it seems pretty likely that Mike is probably closer to the pure heterosexual axis than the other two, but still, my brain just loves Billie/Mike anyway.

So while my fangirling for [livejournal.com profile] al_teregoz & [livejournal.com profile] angie_aiken knows no bounds, I remain unconverted. :-)

(I'm working on a fic now, but it's going very slowly......thank you for the kind words!)

Man, you couldn't have put my thoughts into words more succinctly there. But hey, your Billie/Mike love is totally cool - I have a special place in my heart for it, too. That's why it's fiction, right? Speaking of which, nice to know you're working on something! ;)

You think being a Billie/Mike 'shipper is hard, try being a Mike/Tre. The only time I read that pairing is if I end up writing it myself.

But I'm still new to the Billie/Mike world, and I have to say that my standards are quite high because of [livejournal.com profile] tasyfa and the wonderful diddy [livejournal.com profile] al_teregoz just recently posted that confirmed my conversion. Billie/Tre seems to have this uncontainable...lust behind it I can't ignore.

It made me wonder what took me so damn long.

[livejournal.com profile] luthien123 wrote a wonderful fic, Destiney Is Dead, featuring Mike/Tré. (The link is to the final part, which has the links to the earlier chapters.) If you missed it, you should definitely read it now!

Oh, hey, I'm a Billie/Mike shipper ^_^

(Or well, mostly. If it's well-written I'll read anything, though.)

...Yeah, hi, I'm so not supposed to be online at all, but anyway. I wandered in though the_belfry and just had to comment to show my support xp

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey... Oh man I SUCK. How the fuck did I miss this?

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] koneko41's comments, I did become the Billie/Mike shipper that I am because to me it did seem more likely. I mean, Billie and Tre clearly have the playing around/fooling around angle going, but I still really get the friends vibe from them. Maybe friends with some fucking/sucking benefits or whatever, but I could never really see them as a couple in the come-home-to-your-sweety kind of way.

On the other hand, with the way Billie interacts with Mike, talks about Mike and all that, I can see a foundation for some kind of real relationship, a serious relationship. And if you ignore the hetero vibes pretty much oozing out of Mike's pores, you could see the two of them as a couple. Or I can. So yes while I'm okay with the good ol' Billie and Tre get drunk and suck eachother off scenario, in terms of actual, erm, plot and emotions I'm more into the Billie/Mike idea. Which makes them my OTP. (I've decided the work of [livejournal.com profile] al_teregoz transcends OTP's)

As for the lack of Billie/Mike, I feel ya. But I remember waaaay early on, when I was combing through the _cc_ archives in the beginning, there were way a lot of Billie/Mike fics. So yeah I'd say go back to the beginning, early-ish entries if you haven't already and see what you can find. Cause there was some good shit back in the day. Yes.

Peace out. Smack me upside the head with an IM if I keep missing these things :)
