Just a quick post about American Idol tonight.

Adam Lambert is amazing, even with a missed note. (And the fact that he's really really really easy on the eyes? Doesn't hurt.)

The vast majority of the rest were just...meh. Like, it's hard to remember them even though it's been a whole 45 minutes.

Anoop, Megan, and Jorge were...not good. But since Anoop is the golden child, it's Megan and Jorge headed home tomorrow, I predict.

As an aside, please Paula, get back on your meds.

Whenever I see Adam Lambert now (even watching, like, youtube videos) I wonder what was wrong with me before! How I didn't really like him at one point is a complete mystery to me because I probably love him WAY TOO MUCH at this point.

He's definitely easy on the eyes and needs to continue being his awesome pretty self. Tonight's performance was beyond amazing - as expected. I was so happy with the judges feedback as well because it was much deserved, especially Simon saying that he was in a league of his own, because he really, really was.

I open up my posting page and write as I watch because I know half the people will be forgettable if I didn't.

Anoop wasn't good vocally, but I still want him to stick around for entertainment value and cause I just like his personality. Jorge wasn't great, unfortunately, and I'm pretty sure he's going to be gone tomorrow. I know I'm rare in thinking that Megan was decent tonight, but compared to her other performances I thought this was pretty good. Now that I think the show is rigged I can't decide if I think Megan is going to go home tomorrow. I think it's either going to be Jorge and Megan or Jorge and Jasmine; one of the two definitely.

Paula is just... I don't know why I continue to be shocked by her craziness; you'd just think someone would sit her down and have a nice long talk about why she shouldn't be acting/looking that way on national television, but I guess no one loves her enough to do so.

Oh, did you hear about the rumor that the bottom two are going to do a sing-off and the judges decide who goes home? After the twist that Ryan was speaking of, I wonder if it's true. I wouldn't be surprised considering it seems like they've chosen ways to set this show up to keep around exactly who they want and get rid of those they don't.

This year has far and away been the most manipulative in terms of the producers picking exactly who they wanted for the top 12, or at least they're just more open about it. Kelly Clarkson never would have made it this year. People like Ricky or Ju'not or Felisha might have had a chance in years past, but instead we got "packages" like Megan. I'm just happy the producers are on the Adam train, just because I am too, but wow, there is some weird shit going on behind the scenes this year...and it's only the first week.

They are going to lose a huge number of fans/viewers if the judges start deciding who is going home. Even if it means that we get Sanjaya, or that 16 yo Conen OBrian look-alike from a few years ago staying way past their shelf date, that's still the appeal of the show.

I find these early rounds painful with all the forgettable. When it gets to the top 5 or 6 is when it becomes interesting. I'm saying Adam, Danny, Lil, Matt, Allison, and maybe Anoop (if they don't continue throwing him under the bus.)

I'm trying to find a live feed so we don't have to wait 3 hours to watch the show. I'm not strong enough to stay away from TWoP after the broadcast.
