  • It's official. I am obsessed with a contestant on American Idol. I mean, I know I had a taste of it last year with David Cook, but they haven't even selected the top 12 yet, and I'm already rooting hard for someone.

His name is Adam Lambert, and my first impression of him was: OMG. The love child of Pete Wentz and Ryan Ross. Seriously...the guyliner, the skinny jeans, the emoboy hair cut. But then he sang. And then I checked out his videos on YouTube. And in spite of him being as (openly) gay as they come, and that I have never been the faghag type, I find him incredibly attractive. (I am also conveniently ignoring the 20+ year age difference.) The fact remains, he has an incredible voice and can sing just about anything. As proof, I have two YouTube vids under the cut. One is him doing a duet in English and Hebrew with an Israeli singer, the the second is him performing his own rock song at a club. You will not believe it's the same guy!

So this is the nice Jewish boy in a suit:

And this is, well, what it is. :-)

See what I mean? I'm predicting Top 2.

I'm interested to see if the TPTB at AI are going to make him hide his boyfriend away. Given that pics are already circulating on the interwebs of him playing tonsil hockey with his bf, it would seem kind of pointless. It's not like the middle-aged Kansas evangelical Christian housewives that voted for Clay Aiken were gonna vote for Adam Lambert anyway.

  • Some sites on the internet have posted mini-reviews of the (leaked) Green Day song 21st Century Breakdown here, here and here.

Like the official sneak preview reviews, they are mostly positive.

Except for the comments from the acne-prone losers who were still crapping in diapers when Dookie came out. DIAF, as all the kids say nowadays.

  • Things to do today:
    Finish Taxes
    Return Library Books
Go to Post Office to mail video and magazine to Barb.

Such an exciting life I lead.

I sent the vid priority mail (3-6 days) for $10. I'm sure you didn't REALLY mean as fast and pricey as possible, because I could have sent it express (3 days) for $60 US.

Oh yeah, Danny Deadwife already has the evangelical Christian vote wrapped up. By the way, did you know his wife died? The interesting thing is apparently Danny and Adam are actually friends and roommates. I can totally see TPTB setting up Clean Cut Boy Next Store vs. Wild Goth (gay) Guy as the finale.

And there is already a website set up to pray for Adam -- and not in a good way. Good God people, get a life.

There really isn't anyone in tonight's group that I'm excited about seeing. Maybe I'll be surprised.

Thanks for the vid mailing. =)

Danny sure took a lot of crap for the dead wife bit...and yet, I don't think he had much control over that. The producers love picking up on a good sob story. I'm sure he'll continue to mention her in his interviews somewhat, but hopefully they've seen that there's such a thing as overkill in this stuff.

I could see a Danny and Adam finale, actually (almost typed Danny/Adam there, though I'm sure that'll happen somewhere too lol).

So what are they praying for for Adam, exactly? "Dear God, please to be smiting the gay dude?" Jeez.

Lemme know what you thought of last night. I think Lil is fantastic though that's clearly not my kind of music and I'd probably never listen to her, she struck me as a real, seasoned performer and not an idol contestant. Ju'not also stuck out for me last night (or however you spell his name). Those were my two pics for that group. I thought Von did okay, too. Whatsisname, hair-band wearing dude...wtf was that? The slow parts of the song were okay, but then all of a sudden, Meat Loaf goes cabaret! Bizarro.

My comments will be in today's NaLiJoWriMo, :-) but I wasn't that impressed, TBH, with any of them.

"Dear God, please to be smiting the gay dude?"

Worse. The "please to be entering his heart and making him see the error of his sinful ways, and making him more like the way WE think EVERYONE should be."

In fairness to Danny, I think he realizes it's gone over the top, but frankly, he started it and he allowed it.
