Of interest to various assorted people on my flist:

Via [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda: A very interesting and cogent essay on the differences between fiction and fanfiction by [livejournal.com profile] dien. Worth a read.

A blog by some dude on some TV show called "Heros."

For a few, brief, shining moments we thought there might be news about Green Day, but alas our hopes were dashed.

Of interest to me:

Gale Harold was delicious (well, except for the hair cut--IT MUST DIE) last night on Desperate Housewives. I counted at least three clear shout-outs to Queer As Folk, proving that Marc Cherry is a big ole closet (no pun intended) QaF fanboy. In my dreams, he'll write a guest role for Randy Harrison next.

Funniest scene: A karaoke cover of the Ramones!

Yes, as a singer, he's a fine actor. :-)

Very good fanfic vs realfic essay...respectful and accurate. And totally what I've always felt. I write fanfic BECAUSE its easy and fun (and hot). I have no delusions about it being of great literary value, but it is of entertainment value and that's good enough for me.

Heroes in your LJ? Awesome. Green Day rumour? Sucks. That its not true, I mean - duh. Gale? Hot, though he has been saved my mocking his karaoke because youtube won't play nice tonight. Lucky boy. ;)

I'm glad you liked the essay. I thought she made some excellent points.

I tried to find something interesting about SPN for you, but failed.

The whole GD thing is very frustrating. I wish everything wasn't such a big fucking secret all the time.

Not to worry. You will have plenty of opportunities to mock Gale and my love of him over the next few months, I am sure.
