San Francisco!
Jul. 29th, 2008 06:20 pmGreeting from the City by the Bay. I'm sitting in Kat's living room looking out the bay window, watching the Golden Gate Bridge slowly being enveloped by fog.
Alkaline Trio at the Fillmore last night was a blast. Kat was first in line, no surprise, so we were on the barricade at the center. We had a nice time chatting with the security guy, who had to be well into his 50s, but with long hair and muscle tank top and leather wrist bands -- you can picture the type. He obviously loved his job and was very good at it too. My only complaint about the show was the sound quality rather sucked...for the first half of the show I couldn't really hear Matt's vocals at all. Matt looked great, as usual, and of course, saw Kat and gave her a smile. Guess he likes having his own personal stalker. ;-)
Took Kat to work this AM, then drove around the neighborhood that I'm thinking of buying a house in. I really think I can find something there that will be good for me. Hurrah.
To another topic... I can totally understand that someday a person may decide, for whatever reason, that he or she doesn't want an online presence anymore. Sometimes family obligations become more pressing, sometimes you think that too much of your life is being subsumed by online pursuits, sometimes you have a bad experience with a stalker, or maybe your interests change and you just get bored by it all. What I don't understand is doing it in the most dramatic and attention seeking way possible without a word of explanation to the people who thought they were your friends. I can think of no excuse for that. Enough said.
On a lighter note...I am wondering what evil thing Barb did. :-) Perhaps when the shaking stops in LA,
thelackey can enlighten us.
Alrighty, Kat's on her way home from work, and we have the important and onerous task of figuring out in which of this city's 84 gazillion restaurants we should have dinner tonight.

Date: 2008-07-30 05:41 am (UTC)On the other matter...I'm totally with you. I think some sort of 'goodbye' was in order to people who are or were...if not 'friends' in the real life sense, then certainly people who care about you. Not cool. But, it is what it is. I wish her well and we all move on, I guess.
I understand Deb enlightened you via AIM. I do enjoy being evil...when it involves shoving my Lackey down the slippery slope of the SPN, Dean and Jensen fandom. hehe
You could have eaten at the Cheesecake Factory. ;)

Date: 2008-07-30 04:04 pm (UTC)Hey - good luck on the house hunting thing. Remember - you need one with lots of couch space for out of town guests :)
Also pass on my congrats to Kat for another successful Matt-stalking. I honestly think he'd be disappointed if he didn't see her in the crowd.
As for the random-ass deletions, I find it odd. And a bit off-putting to be honest. But whatever - each to their own. I personally don't think I could just disappear without a trace like that. Depending on the situation I may not feel like providing a full explanation, but at least a "hey - this isn't for me anymore, it's been swell, but now I have to go..." kinda thing would be nice. I think we're a fun bunch :)

Date: 2008-08-01 07:22 pm (UTC)As for visiting, it doesn't look like October's going to be possible. I've got a round of concerts that I'm taking time off for (Cobra and Panic just released tour dates, and I'm taking a quick trip to Detroit for a second Cobra show.) However, December is completely free. I can't ask for too much time off per month because with all the staff cutbacks, I know it's going to be harder on the department.
My December calender (aside from the holiday time) is wide open. :) Maybe something mid-month? Before the holidays? Or even earlier, like the first week of the month? If that works, we can start planning!
ETA: as for time, I was thinking something like a wednesday-sunday?
Let me know, because I'm keeping it clear for you. :) November will be hectic because I've got two concerts (both on weekdays of course, so I have to ask for the time off) and then I'm taking a few days around Thanksgiving.
Anyway, the good news is that it's just slightly later than we planned, but that will give me time to save up.
After concert going sucks me dry!So when you get a chance, you let me know what will work best for you. Just name it, and I'm there. :)(Of course if December's no good, you can just go from there and let me know. I'm completely free until May!)
