Leaving on a jet plane...
Mar. 27th, 2008 01:30 amWell, I'm off. Or almost. I'm catching a shuttle in the morning to LAX to get on an 18.5 hour flight to Singapore, then on to Jakarta and Ambon, Indonesia. It's far away. One hundred and 73 degrees of longitude away. Hard to get much further than that.

(NB: I will be flying Westbound. :-) )
You all can guess why, I'm sure -- the third of my life's great obsessions: Green Day, LJ, and Scuba Diving. :-D
After a day at a land-based resort, I'll be getting on a boat with 14 friends for a ten day trip in the Banda Sea, one the the most bio-diverse places of earth. Just recently a new species of frog fish was identified:

Isn't he cute?
It's a 115 foot wooden Phinisi style boat called The Archipelago Adventurer II, and it's supposed to be very luxurious, with gourmet meals and accommodations to go with the world-class diving. This .pdf file has even better pictures.
Yes, I'm excited. Why do you ask?
I might have internet in Jakarta on my way in and way out, but that's about it. It looks like I might miss the FHT release, but I know I can count on you to hook me up when I get home, right? If I miss their only live performance or something insane like that, don't tell me, kthnx?
I'll miss you guys...be good!

Date: 2008-04-06 07:48 pm (UTC)Well I've just got back from my vacation, and now you're gone on yours. I have a feeling yours will be a bit more "exotic" than mine! Hope you have a wonderful trip, get lots and lots of diving in, and can't wait to hear and see all about it when you get back. Have a blast!
