Is it possible to catch the plague through the internet?

I've been watching as my flist succumbs to the creeping crud, one by one. I don't generally believe in action at a distance, but apparently LiveJournal has some strange quality that Stephen King could write a novel about, because now I'm sick as shit too. Achy, sore throat, cough that starts with a wheeze and ends with me trying to hack out a lung.

Right before 3 night shifts. And to make it even better, today my voice started going, so I sound like Kermit the Frog on helium.

Grrrrrrrrr. The only silver lining is that I should be well and unlikely to get sick just before my two week vacation to Indonesia starting at the end of this month. Well, that's something.

Oh Mary, I'm sorry you're getting sick!! You know what helped my throat and fixed my voice right up? Eating honey straight from the bottle. A couple of spoons full of it (or just squirting it right in, like Gerard does, lol) and seriously, my throat/voice was fine after a couple of 'shots' :)

I know honey & lemon in tea is supposed to help but I had no tea, and thought "What the hell?" because I know honey is actually a pretty good product to have on hand. It works in a pinch for healing cuts & stuff. (Yes, I acutally sit around and read this shit, lol)

Anyway, if you haven't already (because who really thinks of this?) Take few straight shots of honey. When I did it, I had absolutely ZERO voice, and venture to say that I sounded like I had laryngitis. Which I didn't -- just sore throat. My throat burned really badly too, and cough drops only irritated it more. I took the honey, and within ten minutes I could actually talk. So, do that. For the throat anyway :D

As for the rest of the plague? Well no one knows how to cure that better than you do, but what fixed me was lots of chicken soup, regular shots of honey, (with nothing else in it) and the daytime version of Alka Seltzer cold pills. Best med ever. :)

Hope you feel better doll!! *HUG*

Thanks for the tips Angie! Of course, here at work I don't have anything. Well, except ibuprofen which does help some! At least with the muscle aches. I think 10 hours of sleep would probably do wonders too.

I'm glad you're better!
