Short post...I'm tired!

Reading '07 was amazing! What a blast we ([livejournal.com profile] beelzezuk & [livejournal.com profile] sylvee) all had. The weather was phenomenal, as well...sunny and warm all three days. It appears that this was all my doing. I didn't even need to buy a pair of Wellies.

We pretty much spent all three days running on no sleep because, as the late great sage Warren Zevon once wrote, "I'll sleep when I'm dead."

Here's the list of the bands I saw, in quantities ranging from 2 songs to the entire set:

Friday: Gogol Bordello, Gossip, Kings of Leon, Razorlight, The Enemy, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly!, Enter Shikari, Plain White T's, The Living End

Saturday: The Dead 60's, Eagles of Death Metal, Angels and Airwaves, Panic! at the Disco, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Twang, Biffy Clyro, Cobra Starship, The Academy Is...

Sunday: CSS, Billy Talent, The Used, Funeral for a Friend, Fall Out Boy, LostProphets, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins

Bands that I had never or barely heard of that I enjoyed: The Dead 60s, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly!, LostProphets.

Bands that I knew that I enjoyed the most: The Living End, Panic! (Brendon didn't get hit in the head this time, although they were bottled pretty hard the first 2-3 songs), FOB (still think they're not as good live as on record though.)

The BBC recorded most of the acts, so you can find them here.

Elz and I made it back to London with a minimum of hassle, but we're plenty tired, so we're just chilling out, event though the 2nd largest street festival/carnival in the world is taking place 3 blocks from here.

Tomorrow starts the London Tourist From HellĀ® week.

Cheers.

Sleep when you're dead...hell yes! Good for you. And I hope they're all thanking you profusely for bringing the good weather. ;)

Hope you enjoy the tourist-y portion of your holiday as much as the music portion. =)

And you're missed, man...last night I got home from the cabin and went on line and for a second I was all "where's Mary" until my brain kicked in. LOL

*hoists a pint*
*Why are there no clouds in the sky? Because Mary has come to Reading to watch some of her favorite bands!*

Thanks for the update, glad you're having a splendid time :]

From what I hear, it's a good thing you didn't go to said second largest street festival/carnival, just in case... :(

Good to hear it went well! I'm betting Gogol Bordello were fun!

Haha---I told [livejournal.com profile] feels_like_fire to say hi to you, since I knew I'd never catch you! This early to bed, early to rise stuff is for the birds. :-)

Thanks dear. I'd never even heard of the Dead 60s, but as Sylv pointed out, they had a nice Clash-y sound.

I heard that voice post. I am shocked, shocked to hear you were drinking.

Yes, I was 3 feet away from Panic!@theOKCorral. Brendon and Ryan looked at me. :-) I have pictures. I will post when I get home.

We heard the ambulances go by several times. After 85 k at Reading, we weren't in the mood to deal with 1.5 million anyway.

GB were a blast! I'd love to see them in a smaller venue.
