Remember this lovely Mother's Day tribute to Ollie Armstrong that thelackey posted a few days ago? Did anyone check out the picture that came with the source article?




First of all, the woman is gorgeous. But holy crap, can you believe she's 75 years old? She looks about 15-20 years younger at least. I guess we know where Billie Joe got his continuing good looks.

Last week before the article had come out I got three photos of her and, honestly, I was a bit bewildered as to why she'd had a photoshoot of sorts. Obviously it's clear why now. I don't think they ended up putting the other pics up with the article, but I still have them uploaded here (http://greendaytrio.org/x) (my own photobucket type thing) if you'd like to have a peek. And yeah, she looks amazing for her age, I wouldn't guess a day over 55.

Also, I think this is the first time I've seen your LJ layout, it's so pretty! The header image is awesome. :)

Seriously, this lady seems super awesome. That article was such a cute/fitting tribute to her. So sweet. I see a lot of her in Billie (and probably her other kids as well), both looks- and personality-wise.

After the giant "awwwww", that was my second thought about the article - wow does she look awesome at 75 (how cool is that) and holy crap does Billie take after her. The same kinda fine features and slight stature I think.

After reading the story and hearing her love for what she does, and her determination to keep on going, I immediately thought of the lyrics from Longview - "my mother says to get a job, but she don't like the one she's got". I've read somewhere that Billie felt bad about writing that, because his mom was hurt by it. Sounds like he may have gotten that one wrong! It's my bet that she gave him a good swift smack upside the head and sent him to his room!

I read that somewhere about "Longview" too. I've also read that by the time Billie came around, Ollie was pretty much past her disciplinarian days, so I have a feeling the cute baby of the family mostly got away with murder.

Um YEAH. I am blown away. Look at her! She is drop dead gorgeous and doesn't look a day over I won't even say. Also, Billie totally looks like her. You can see it in the nose and the lines around the mouth. TOO CUTE!
