A/N: I've had AFI on the brain since I saw them two weeks ago, so this seemed like a good excuse to get it out. This takes place the second week of June 2006, right after Decemberunderground debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200 Chart.

For the fic challenge to celebrate the 1,039th member of comingclean, with the prompt of 'congratulations'.

Yanked along by his dog, Billie Joe struggled down the block, barely managing to avoid his neighbor's car pulling into the driveway.

"Dude," Billie yelled as Davey exited his car. "Number one! Number fucking one!" He bounded over to squish his pal in a bear hug. "I'd buy champagne, if you did that shit!"

Davey pulled back to read one pair of unlined eyes with another--What were those odds?--hands still on Billie's hips. Billie leaned forward and flicked his tongue gently against his friend's lip ring.

"You could congratulate me some other way," Davey murmured.

Okay, I know nothing of Davey - guess I'm gonna have to learn, huh? But Billie is adorable here...I can so see him bounding over like that, all excited. And walking the dog? Too cute. Well done...and judging from the comments you got, lots of people are liking the Billie/Davey. =)

I don't know a whole lot about Davey either. I tried to work in what little I do know to make it believable. (The lip ring, the not drinking, the fact that he and Billie live in the same neighborhood.) But I can picture Davey/Billie pretty easily. Davey is intentionally ambiguous about his sexuality--he won't say one way or the other. And they are friends. That helps. :-)
