Posting this just because I have to:

After tonight's TLE show (more about that in a different post), Ashton and I were waiting to see if the boys would make an appearance, while chatting with Janine, who Angie and I met at the PFAW awards in October. She mentioned an article in San Francisco Magazine a few months ago about a topic of great interest to many of us, so much so that I'm shocked that it never made the rounds on the flist.

Our response to this can only be summed up by the immortal words of tasyfa:

I'm probably going to come off as a real bitch right now, but she seems like much more a LA/fashion girl than a punk rock girl. It makes me sad that he doesn't seem to be into punk girls anymore. Where's the love, Mike Dirnt?

I'm probably just bitter because it reminds me of being in high school, and how all the punk guys would go out with the cheerleaders. So fucked up. :(

No, I don't see anything saying that they ever got married OR that they're still together; that first article is dated September and there's no date on the second one at all (though I'm assuming it's recent coz it's a Best Of article, and those are end of year), just that they lived together and they've been dating for what, 3 years?

Well, at least she does something. Even if it's not something I'm interested in or particularly impressed by, she seems passionate about it so I gotta respect that. At least she doesn't need Mike to make her famous. I even like her more because she choose such a cool boyfriend instead of the poseurs I'm sure she could go out with.

Still I guess I'm a little sad about his choice. But as Audrey said, there must be something more to her, something that appeals to him, and if they really like each other I'm okay with that. Uh... but didn't they break up?

Well except that she got well known because she was dating Mike Dirnt. Otherwise she'd still be the hostess in a chic sushi bar in LA.

And apparently they are still together. I think the woman he was seen with in October was a friend.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks it's kind of cool that he randomly met her just because he happened to go for sushi one night and saw a pretty girl and decided to ask her out.

No wonder she and Adrienne seem to get along with the whole taking-apart-clothing thing.
