Quick Update!
Dec. 12th, 2006 04:45 pmI made a voice post earlier, which I see LJ was kind enough to eat!
But Ash and I are in LA now, getting ready to go the the HOB show in Anaheim tonight, and the Sunset HOB show tomorrow night.
Last's night show in Ventura was great, although the sound wasn't so hot at the venue. We were in the front row at the barricade 4 feet away from Chris and I think I got some really great photos. We were standing with Janine and her friend, who I know from the TLE board and GDA, and whom I met at the PFAW dinner in October. Andy saw us and actually waved to us during the show!
We hung out near the bus and said hello again -- Scott even said "What's this, two of four for you?" Ash got a setlist signed and I took the opportunity to beg Chris to play Bloody Mary at one of the shows. We'll see. They were going across the street to a local bar, but Ashton had gotten her shoulder slammed pretty hard, and wasn't feeling real well, so we decided not to appear too stalkerish and go back to the hotel.
We had a lovely lunch today at a mexican restaurant on the Ventura Harbor. It's one of those beautiful southern California December days today, clear as a bell, sun shining bright so it feels warm when you're in the sun. It's very popular for people who have never lived in LA to rant about how much they hate it, but let me tell you, there are reasons why so many people call it home!
So tonight we drive down to Anaheim, about 30 miles or so and sit through four opening bands, just to get a place on the rail! Tomorrow is the Jimmy Kimmel taping at 4 or so, then a mile and a half down the road to the Sunset House of Blues. That should be a wonderful show.
Hopefully tonight, we'll see
mindfuckamerica too, as well as Janine. TLE fans are a dedicated bunch. And of course, we're hoping for more face time with the boys! Pics to follow as well.
Ash sends her love and we promise to catch up with your LJs when we can! :-)
