May. 17th, 2011 12:16 amOh hai LJ hai!
You remember me! Right?
I still check my flist every day or so, but I've been a big fat lazy ass about posting.
So here, let's start with some silly personal stuff:
I ran in the 100th running of the San Francisco Bay to Breakers on Sunday. It's one of the largest footraces in the world. This year they allowed 50,000 entries. My START time was approximately 30 minutes after the winner CROSSED THE FINISH LINE! And there were still probably 10K people after me! It's a 12k (7.46 miles) that starts downtown (Bay) and ends at the Pacific Ocean (Breakers). In past years it's been a total drunk and cray fest, but they started cracking down on that recently. Pretty sure the bars that were open and doing banner business along the route aren't usually open at 7am on Sunday, though!
I use the word "run" loosely. I actually walked most of it, finishing in just under 2 hours. Mostly I enjoyed looking at the costumes or lack thereof. Saw a lot of schlong...lost count at a dozen, but only 2 pair of boobs...sexist! LOL My favorite was a bunch of people near the start of the race who were going in the wrong direction. Then I figured out the costumes were fish...then I realized they were salmon, swimming upstream. I laughed out loud!
The other nice thing about the race is that I live only about 1.5 miles from the finish line so it's an easy walk home too. (I took the Muni to the start line.) So here's the proof of the proof that I really did it. :-)

I even eeked out a smile, but I'm one sore mofo today...I didn't really train.

I'm pretty active on twitter berting all about Adam Lambert. (Yes, there is a verb "to bert" meaning to fangirl or squee over...don't judge!) I still listen to his music and love the hell out of his voice, and follow his comings and goingsperhaps a little too closely. He's still adorable. In a story that sounds like bad fanfic, he met a guy that was a reality TV star in Finland (won Finnish Big Brother in 2007) the one night he was in Helsinki for a show in November and basically had what was supposed to be a one night stand, except that now six months later, the guy is leaving his country, family, friends and life to move to LA to be with Adam. Yeah, I'm a sucker for romance. :-)

Feel free to follow me on twitter http://www.twitter.com/revid99, but only if you don't mind hearing about Adam. LOL
Say hi flist! What's up with you?

Is that what happened? Because I was totally under the impression that Sauli was here to work! Haha, but in the back of my mind I've always been like 1. C'mon, admit it, you came for Adam, and 2. When does work start, because we haven't seen it yet, lol.
They're so adorable ♥!! And his HAIR.
Also, I totally need to get back to you on some thoughts after discovering

Date: 2011-05-18 02:01 am (UTC)So they've been here for a few weeks now, but we just found out that Sauli got a job with a Finnish radio station to be their LA based entertainment reporter, which will get him a media visa allowing him to stay in the US as long as he works for them.
Clearly the guy wasn't dying to leave his life behind and move to LA, so i looks like he went hunting for a job just so he could stay. Adam tweeted a pic of himself and Sauli a couple weeks ago with the caption "Rakastan" which is Finnish for "I love"
So yeah, it's looking pretty serious.
FYE runs hot and cold. There are two active posts at any given time: a bert post and a wank post. (as you might imagine there is some content overlap!) It's mostly an anon comm, which means it can get nasty and trolly and no fun, but you can also pick up tidbits of gossip that people would not say logged in too. The wank post is not for the thin skinned or weak of heart, the bert post is a little more fun.
Sucks about your car during the B2B. I'll remind you next year, we can do it together. :-)

Date: 2011-05-18 06:23 am (UTC)So they have been working? Haha, makes sense. I thought maybe they hadn't started yet. And I had no idea about the new job that allows him to stay. I was actually just having this conversation the other day with a friend where I was like "the only thing that sucks is that he can't like... just stay here long term." But I guess now he can, haha. I'm super happy for them.
From what we've seen so far, Sauli=classy, I like it! Also, the Rakastan picture, I saw that when he first tweeted it, and then googled it cause I was all "WTF is rakastan?!" I thought it was some inside joke until I was all "maybe it's another language... like - god, i'm an idiot - like Finnish!" Haha
I am never the kind of person to take part in wank, but I guess I enjoy the gossip aspect of it more than anything. Like, I had NO CLUE about that whole Lisa tweet & delete that happened until I headed over there. OMG!
Anyway, I've missed you, and being able to talk about Adam with someone who cares ♥

Date: 2011-05-17 10:44 pm (UTC)I predict berting will be a part of every day discourse and in Webster's in 5 years time. It's just too handy a word
