Random Drunken Musings
Aug. 28th, 2008 11:20 pmSo, it's just occurred to me that I've probably consumed more calories in wine than in food today, so what better reason to post to my LJ?
A little personal shit first:
I had sort of been planning to be unemployed as of 15 November, but I found out less than a week ago that I'm losing my job as of this Monday. It's not a crisis, in that I have money in the bank, but it wasn't exactly what I was planning either. You know, I'd like that money to retire, or follow Green Day around like the shameless middle aged groupie that I am.
So after a day or two of panic, I started looking around, and there's a place that's looking for people the same distance away as my current job. I'd love to work closer, but there's just nothing open nearby. Plus, I really want to move to San Francisco in the near future, and this seems like a good interim type job. So everyone keep your fingers crossed for me, OK?
Today I spent one hour with tech support getting my DSL back on line, and two hours in a dentist's chair getting 2 teeth drilled and filled today. Fun times, y'all.
Thank you for all your nice comments on my QaF fic. I am going to use my LJ to crow a little -- I got this comment on the QaF RPS comm (
galerandylove) I posted it to : :D I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful new Gale&Randy verse \o/ . To me, this was the nicest thing to say. :-D So if any of you want to watch QaF and squee with me while awaiting Green Day's return...........
It's been nice to see some of the MIA folks on my flist posting again. We don't care what you post about...just post, OK?
I'm already excited about the big LJ get-together in October of
and_ed,
thelackey,
feels_like_fire,
leighrowena,
_somniac_,
indie_wonka, and whoever the hell else is in the bay area and wants to show up.
Hope everybody is well!

Date: 2008-08-29 01:54 pm (UTC)As for the fic - that's a really awesome comment. I already told you that you're a great writer, and therefore you should get to working on that community! ;) It'll help pass the time until Green Day return, lol. :) (*glares at them*)
Oh boys...WHERE ARE YOU? :(
I've been watching QaF a lot more lately. I still say it's better than any actual porn, and it's got Brian Kinney. What more do we need? ;)
I'm sorry about all the job drama, but I'm glad that overall things are well, and my fingers and toes are crossed for you!
*SMOOCHES!* :)

And of course, crossing fingers the job works out the way you want it. *hugs*

Hmmmm.....sorry to hear about the job news - while I know you'll end up on your feet and exactly where you want to be in the end, it would be nice if TPTB would just stay with the program and let you play things out the way you would like them to be, but what can you do? Good luck on the new "interim" job.
Also, glad to hear about your positive reviews in the QaF world - good for you! Perhaps you will brush up your skills or work out the kinks or whatever you writerly folk say, and be ready to dive back into the GD fic world when the OTB return - the well has definitely gone dry in their hiatus.
And because I have to do this for the next month and a half and you all have to humour me.....I WANT TO LIVE IN CALIFORNIA NOW :(
