More Pinhead Gunpowder Spam...

This song has been eating my brain. It's one of the three new songs debuted by Pinhead Gunpowder this last week. It's called On The Avenue and features some lovely vocal harmonies between Jason White and Billie Joe Armstrong. nene recently posted a version shot in Anaheim; here is a version shot by me at the Troubadour. Unfortunately the Troubadour was VERY poorly lit and I was up on the balcony, but Billie is still adorable with his printed lyric cheat sheet.

That's probably the ONE SONG PHGP played at Gilman during which I was not getting completely annihilated. Which only increased the delight I already felt at hearing it again. Such a good song! I can't wait for it to come out.

Eddie and I were able to sing along during the chorus (I'm sure other people did too but he was right next to me sooooo) and since we were right down in front of Billie, he actually noticed us knowing the words to this BRAND NEW SONG. It was really fun. He sort of squinted down at us in surprise then grinned like we'd just handed him a puppy. And I am telling you right now, that man makes the most hilarious goddamn faces in the world when he is jamming out on his guitar. It is so adorable.

Your video is fantastic, though, dude. I know Billie didn't want anyone videotaping (and I think he achieved that way more in Gilman than he did anywhere else) but I'm not sad you did anyway. ;)

I have to agree - that is such a catchy song/melody. They had better hurry the hell up and finish whatever recording they were going on about and release these new songs!

I also love the cheat sheet (although it seems Billie's memory has improved from the first few shows where he was practically holding it up infront of his face!) My favourite part is how once Billie tosses it away, Aaron reaches over the drums to grab it away from the crazy fangirls/sleazy-ebay-sellers :) I think I could really like that guy the more I learn about him *wink thirdbeatred's way*
