HOLY SHIT I AM JEALOUS. :)

Okay, here's my line-up, in order:

1. FALL OUT BOY. You know you want to see Wentz in all his glory. No really, they're awesome. I know they're not one of your favorites, but I think you'd really enjoy the show.

2. LOSTPROPHETS! Actually, this is tied with one. They're truly amazing. In fact, I fell in love with them even quicker than I did the first time I heard MCR. :)

3. Hell, just see EVERYONE on the 26th. That's the best line up I've ever heard. Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Lostprophets, FOB, The Used, & Gym Class Heroes? HELL YES. :) Those are all some of my favorite bands. (Yes, after I got over the whole Bert/Gerard thing, I realized The Used are such a great band!)

4. I'm really fond of Bloc Party, and they love to slash it up on stage. :) Oh, and you know how much I love Panic! I think you'll love them in concert. They put on a great show. Plus, Audrey and Marisa might have a heart attack if you didn't. :p

5. Enter Shikari, Cobra Starship and of course, my new found loves: The Academy Is. Those three bands are all newer to me, but again, I fell hard for them pretty much right away. :)

Do you have the opportunity to see all the bands, or would that be impossible?

*HUG* When do you leave???? I'm STILL working on the UK write-up. No joke. It will be the longest thing you've ever read, but I think it'll be entertaining. It'll be done tonight. :) I'll come poke you when it is.

Well, of course, I'm gonna suggest TLE even though it's no question they are high on your list to see. A for the other bands:

Jimmy Eat World: A really solid live band. Bleed American is probably in my Top 10 albums since 2000.

Brand New: I've been a fan since Deja Entendu came out back in 2003 and their new record The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me has been on constant play since I bought it. Their sounds continues to evolve after each record and, if you listened to Deja and The Devil back-to-back, you wouldn't think it was the same band.

Against Me!: A really great punk band from Florida. Remeber that song Don't Lose Touch? And it had that weird spoken/singing style to it? That's this band. Haven't had the chance to see them live yet, but I've heard great things from people who have and they're political too and I'll give any band a chance that questions this government's actions.

Gossip: It's fronted by this "fat lesbian from Washington" (her words, not mine lol) named Beth Ditto. She's awesome and fierce and proud of her size. She was on the cover of NME a few weeks ago naked. Girl has balls.

NIN: Trent. 'Nuff said.

Bloc Party: No specific reason but I really enjoy their sound and, for me personally, it's always cool to see minorities in rock bands. :)

Arcade Fire: Instense. Passionate music.

Interpol: Because I'm seeing them Oct. 20th. :p

The Enemy.

If they are not further up the line up next year I will eat my arm. Catchy, three chord tunes about working class kids. All the attitude with equal talent and passion. Sound familiar? DO NOT MISS THEM!!!! I think Sylv will agree.

The View

What can I saw? The blew the pants off everyone else at Glastonbury, not sure why they were performing in a tent, anyway. They are amazing live better than on cd. You will love the guitar dominated sound and the singer is Scottish.... DO you need more? If you want some tunes uploaded I can do that for you?

Yep, I would say the 26th is the winner day! I'm almost ashamed to admit I've never seen SP, NIN or RHCP, so I get to kill 3 birds with one stone this weekend.

Pretty much the entire FBR label is there that w/e, aren't they? FOB and Panic! are on the must see list for sure.

I've never heard of Enter Shakiri. I want to see TAI because I want to stare at Beckett's lovely inguinal creases.

I'm gonna see as many bands as I can.

ACK! You're gone. *sniff sniff*

Despite their appearance on the 4th stage, TLE is my number one pick. Of course.

JEW opened for Green Day when I saw them in Fresno, but I only caught half their set.

I don't know much about Brand New, but Kat likes them a lot too.

HA! I've never heard of Gossip, but that sounds worth checking out for sure.

I'm probably going to miss one of those main stage bands the first night to see TLE. We'll see how they're stagggered.

The Enemy. This is exactly the reason I ask my awesome flist for reccs.

I would love to have a tune or two from the View if you have them available.

My favorite band in the early 90s was a band out of Glasgow called Del Amitri. Very pretty Scottish boys. :-)

Actually... yeah. ALL of the FBR label is there, now that you mention it! :p

I think you'd like Enter Shikari. I think they're really great, but you're going to have and amazing time!!

AND. I'm back!! ;p *HUGS*

I agree with pretty much what everyone else has said so far (that includes all the JEALOUSY oh my GOD), but I have to add Cold War Kids and We Are Scientists to the list. I've already gone over my love of the CWKs, but We Are Scientists are a hilarious band with fun, fast rock. Lead singer is way cute, too.

You are going to have the best time. If you happen to see Ryan Ross walking around feel free to try to kiss him for me. I give you permission. ;)

Oh, and I just scrolled down farther: add Hot Hot Heat and Silversun Pickups to my list.

I'll shut up now. ;P

Billy Talent.

Local band made good. High energy, fast, loud, and melodic - which is a neat trick.

I second Arcade Fire. And Gogol Bordello is just fun.

    Jimmy Eat Oatmeal? Really? ;)

That's what I called them the first time I saw them live, Mary...because they were bland and boring like oatmeal. Great music - but performance-wise they tend to stand there and stare at their shoes. Also, the drummer is the most un-drummer-like drummer in the history of ever - he looks like he's having as much fun as if he was doing his taxes. *nods* So now watch, just because I said that, they'll be all lively and banter-y and the most energetic band of the day. I guess you'll have to go watch them now just to see. =)

As for my picks...and yes, I'm putting this all in Deb's comment so she has to listen to me, too... FOB, Panic, TLE (as if I need to tell you that), Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Against Me, The Dead 60's...and I'm gonna second oh_johnny on the Billy Talent. *nods*

So looking forward to a full report. =)

    *waves at Deb*

Jimmy Eat Oatmeal...heeheehee. And they're playing twice! I wasn't overwhelmed with the half set that I did catch. The sound was awful and it was way too loud to enjoy them at my show (Thank god both those were corrected for Green Day's set.)

Thanks for the reccs...I ♥ my flist.

I'm jealous! If I were actually there, I'd definitely catch:
Interpol, Gogol Bordello, RHCP, Arcade Fire, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, We Are Scientists, LCD Soundsystem, the Hold Steady, the Living End, Mad Caddies, Big D, the Draft (SO GOOD), Street Dogs, Riverboat Gamblers (GREAT live act, even if you don't really know them), and Against Me! (shocker, right?).

And, time permitting, I'd try to catch: Paramore, Lostprophets, FOB, the Sounds, Dinosaur JR, Cold War Kids, Mute Math, the Bronx, Plain White T's (they've gotten better, heh), and Gallows. I'm probably pretty predictable. :)

    Have a good time!
