First of all, a very happy birthday to the lovely and most talented [livejournal.com profile] looking_spiffy. Have a great day today, Jade!

I've had a week off from work and do you want to know all that I've accomplished?

*crickets*

Yep, that about covers it.

Well, I've done a few little things, like partially cleaning out and organizing the garage. I've paid some bills and run some errands. I've read a few magazines and watched a few TV shows. I've eaten too much and exercised too little. Chatted with Kat and Barb and Angie and Karen. Did I mention I surfed the internet a bit?

I also had a veritable orgy (so to speak) of watching episodes of Queer As Folk (US). Watching Gale Harold and Randy Harrison pretend-fuck is 1000x sexier than any of the real gay porn I've seen. Talk about chemistry between actors! I'm even going to force myself to watch Desperate Housewives next season just so I can see what Gale Harold having sex with a woman looks like (even if it is Terry Hatcher....ewwww.)

Also watched the first three episodes of SPN, just for the Barbster. While Jared looks better in pictures, Jensen does have a certain charm, doesn't he? If I were Deb, I think I would skip Milo at the comic con for them. Still not really hooked on the show, but I promised that I'd watch at least one or two more. :-)

Last Tuesday was the 10th anniversary of my mom's death. Being the pragmatist that I am, it wasn't a horrible day or anything, but still, it was hard to believe. Sometimes it seems like it was yesterday and sometimes it seems like it was a million years ago. I'm just happy I had her as long as I did. I would not be one tenth the woman I am today without her.

I'll be going up to San Francisco this week to see Alkaline Trio and Prima Donna and hang out with Kat for a few days doing nothing. I'm also going to try to arrange to see a few places for sale up there, even though I'm nowhere near ready to buy anything; it would be nice to get a feel for what's available. Nothing really new on the job front -- I assume for the moment that I am losing my job on 15 November, and I am planning accordingly. The good news is that I know of at least 3 or 4 places that I could get a job in a heartbeat if I had to, the problem is I really don't want to work at any of them. But still, it's nice to know. I'm also considering taking six weeks off and not even thinking about going back to work until after the new year. We'll see. I guess it's just part of what makes life interesting.

I hope everyone on the flist is doing well. I was happy to see cameo appearances from Audrey and Ashton this week. Now if only Green Day would make a cameo appearance on to the scene. Wouldn't that be something? It's starting to look more and more like 2009 for the next CD, isn't it?
