FOAD Scalpers...
Oct. 27th, 2010 08:55 amIt's 8:30 AM and I've been up all night and I would really like to go to bed, but I can't. I'm staying up to play another round of the wicked game I call TicketBastard Roulette.
Way back in the early spring Adam Lambert hinted that he might do "a handful" of concert dates. He started touring in June, and by the time it's all done, that handful will have turned into something like 115 dates in the US, Canada, Asia and Europe. As we Left Coasters were hoping, he'll be closing the books on the GlamNation Tour in his home town of Los Angeles in December. The final date is 16 Dec at Club Nokia, and I was able to get a ticket through a pre-sale. Two days ago, he added the penultimate date on the 15th at the Music Box (formerly The Henry Fonda) Theatre. WHICH SEATS 1300 PEOPLE.
So here I am, waiting for 10AM to roll around, so I can hit Enter furiously and fight with 30 letter captchas, only to get the message "There are no tickets available at this time." Because I know that's gonna happen. Tomorrow is the GoldenVoice pre-sale, and Friday is the General Sale, so I get to play the Lotto three times, but I'm not optimistic.
Except that I guess I am. Because I bought my plane ticket ($140 RT! WHOO!) and have made arrangements for a hotel room for both nights, so...I guess I'm going. Someone, somewhere will have an extra ticket, right? And prices usually drop precipitously on the scalper sites the last day or two, so, I guess I'm figuring that Ra will provide.
Or maybe pigs will fly and I'll get a ticket an hour from now.
From last night in Hawaii:
ETA: YES! I ACTUALLY GOT A TICKET! *falls into bed*

Date: 2010-10-28 03:05 pm (UTC)I won't get into LA until Wed afternoonSo I won't be in line at the Music Box early, if at all. For the Nokia, I'm playing it by ear. I'll be staying at the Marriott across the street, which is mighty convenient. I won't be one of the 9AM people, that's for sure though. :-)
Are you driving to LA?

Date: 2010-10-29 04:36 am (UTC)Ahhh, OK. I'm not a 9AM person, but I do want to get there pretty early. It's the talking my friends into it that's the problem. They won't be up for it, but I already have guilt tripping intentions to at least get them there 3-4 hours before, which is technically like showing up late to the party, haha.
I'm not, I'm flying. I was going to drive, but then I found a $30 flight out and a $34 flight on VIRGIN AMERICA out of SFO to and from LAX. I mean, what?! So yes, that puts my round trip after taxes and fees at $89.40... the universe wants me to fly.
If you've got any to spare, send good vibes my way tomorrow at 10! I will be a whole new level of crushed if I don't get tickets!

Date: 2010-10-29 08:10 pm (UTC)1.I GOT A TICKET! I don't even know how. I was literally thinking it was impossible by this point!
2. But, I got a balcony ticket and desperately wanted floor, and I only got ONE ticket even though I needed 2, so stubhub was my friend once again!
I know people keep talking about the crazy rip-off prices from stubhub, but I only paid $75, which is, what, $15 more? Not bad at all! So now I've got this extra balcony ticket, but the paranoid side of me is basically planning on keeping it as a back-up as I've never dealt with stubhub before and am still all " but what if my tickets don't work?!?"
But, we'll be seeing Adam twice in a month and a half! So excited!
