Wall O' Text Post because I'm too lazy to add the pretty.
So, real excited about the concerts coming up for 2 of my favorite 3 musical artists! This month I'm going to see Adam Lambert 3 times on 3 consecutive nights, twice in San Fran and once in Sacramento. I'm going to meet up with some new friends from an Adam message board I post on, go to a pre-party (with real live drag queens!) before the show on the 23rd, hang out andstalk look for the band on the 24th in Sacto, and go with my gf's
feels_like_fire,
_somniac_, and
leighrowena and try to convert them to the awesomeness that is Adam Lambert so I have more people to geek with to the show on the 25th.
AND even more exciting is the upcoming concert from the love of my musical life forever, GREEN DAY. The closing show of the tour is Sept 4th and as I also went to the opening show of the tour in Seattle over a year ago, I'm chuffed to be doing the "bookend." In addition to the awesome peeps above, we will be joined by
indie_wonka, and
sick_of_me03 from the land of LA, and YAYAYYAYAYYAYAY SO EXCITED....
mikeyface is coming all the way from FLORIDA to come to the show with us!!! I haven't seen AngieBaby in forever, so I am flailing with excitement over the awesome time to be had! Also in attendance will be
loser_and_user but she'll be seated while the rest of us are in the low rent (non)seats on the lawn at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA.
In RL stuff, in between work just owning my ass hardcore, I've started volunteering for an organization called RockMed, which is a branch of the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic in San Francisco. We provide first aid services at concerts and events in the Bay Area. It's a really cool bunch of people and it's a lot of fun. If it's not busy, it's a neat way to hear some music by artists who you wouldn't mind catching a few songs by, but don't feel like shelling out $50 to see. (If it's busy, you may not catch any of the show, which is why I have tickets to Adam and Green Day!) One cool bene for me is that if they need someone back stage for anything, I get to go because I'm "the doctor," and usually the only one. I got to meet Muse's bass player and Rhianna's guitar player (remember this song by Extreme?) that way. (I told them if they need someone to go backstage at Adam's or Green Day's shows that they'd better text me from the damn audience!)
So damn tired...but looking forward to a visit from the Dad later this week in between getting my hair cut and getting my car tuned and all that usual life scut. Rock on, everybody!
OK, SO I LIED ABOUT THE PRETTY.

You gotta love an RPS fandom where this shit is canon.

Holy shit, Mary. I can't wait!

Date: 2010-07-13 11:48 pm (UTC)But he totally loves the Rock and Roll aesthetic, and he and Adam have really bonded and become very good friends. But oh my, the stage gay! And the fact that Tommy's look is totally Adam's type, just makes the whole thing hot and hilarious at the same time. (There are some fangirls who really do believe they're fucking...I'm not one of them, but it wouldn't break my heart if it was true either!)
Anyway, Adam is 10,000x more freaking fabulous now then he was on Idol. Check out some of the videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/indybeck71#p/u/11/9p-yxYGDJkM
The Warfield shows are sold out, but tix always turn up...you should try to go! :-)

Date: 2010-07-14 03:01 am (UTC)Also ... EVEN MORE YAY. But, where are tickets being sold? I can't find any links or info. The only thing I've found so far is this, which doesn't really tell me anything.
HELP! :D

Date: 2010-07-14 03:10 am (UTC)It does seem like they are being rather haphazard about it.
He just announced a show in Melbourne, FL too. Wherever that is! :-)

Date: 2010-07-14 03:34 am (UTC)Off to the link once I post this! I know how stupidly excited I was at the idols concert, so I can't even imagine how amazing an actual concert of HIS is. That said, I don't even have his album, I tell you, worst fan ever.
But, I did mention while his season of Idol was still on that Adam's music isn't actually the type of music that I normally listen to on an everyday basis, so I can't say I've surprised myself. Then again, it was always a tie between loving HIM and loving his voice, so I must jump back on the bandwagon at some point!
And last, there has GOT TO BE a shitload of fic surrounding those two. And I wanna know where it is!

Date: 2010-07-14 03:45 am (UTC)Ya, ya, I am totally off to google Tommy now. DON'T JUDGE, I have to catch up!

There's also a TON of AU Adam/Tommy fic, but I don't read most of it because I'm not that into AU.

Date: 2010-07-14 05:10 am (UTC)See, I am an AU addict, so it sounds like I have hours of entertainment in my near future :) Starting with the angst though, haven't read any good angst in a long while.
Thanks again for all the links and the quick lessons!

I don't like AU and I got sucked into it. But I warn you: It's 95,000 words! So plan accordingly. :-)

Date: 2010-07-19 11:29 am (UTC)Hey y'all!
I'm toying with crashing the party...
Angie, may I have your trip deets?
I haven't talked to Beth yet to see what all she's arranged.
I thought I was gonna go to Atlanta but those plans have all gone to hell. And I may be in the middle of a job change, so...not sure what's going on yet.

Date: 2010-07-19 11:07 pm (UTC)Hey-Oh!
I've touched base with Beth checking on her itinerary and was wondering when and at which airport you'll be arriving. I'm still checking out flights and needing to ask for the time off etc, but having a feel for what the other peeps have in mind is helpful, don't ya know =:-]
